Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Jason K. Ratcliff, 33, 4 Choate Rd., Park Forest, was arrested on October 9 and charged with driving under the influence and failure to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk when police were dispatched to the area of Central Park Avenue and Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a juvenile who was struck by a vehicle. While on their way, dispatchers advised police that a male on a bike was struck by a vehicle and had been moved off the street to the parking lot of a car wash, according to police. The victim was 15 years old, according to police, and was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

Both passenger side tires of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Algonquin Street were reported slashed on October 11.

Seven small, round holes were discovered in a picture window of a residence in the 400 block of Stanton Street on October 13. Police say the damage was consistent with a BB or pellet gun.

A passenger-side window of a school van parked in the 300 block of Sauk Trail was reported shattered on October 13.

A black Sylvania tower speaker valued at $99 was reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 400 block of Neosho Street on October 15.

An unknown amount of US coins were reported stolen during a residential burglary in the 100 block of Algonquin Street on October 16.

Barry D. Jackson, 38, 141 Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 16 and charged with one count of felony driving while license was revoked and one felony count of aggravated DUI (driving while license was revoked) when an officer responded to the first block of Westwood Drive to investigate a report of an accident.

Nolan E. Heidelberg, 27, 19210 Elm Dr., Country Club Hills, was arrested on October 16 and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis and possession of open alcohol by a passenger when an officer traveling southbound on Western Avenue from Illinois Street was stopped by a freight train and conducted a LEADS inquiry on a vehicle that was stopped in front of him and one Lane to the left. Heidelberg was also processed on an active arrest warrant out of Will County.

A resident told an officer on October 16 that she attempted to file for unemployment online but received notification that someone had already filed under her name. The Social Security Administration is investigating.

David E. Randich, 47, 143 E. Corning Rd., Beecher, was arrested on October 17 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Shamarr E. Thomas, 36, 8151 S. Peoria St., Chicago, was arrested on October 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and having an alcohol concentration in blood over 0.08 when an officer driving west in the 300 block of Sauk Trail at 2:35 AM observed a running, parked vehicle in the parking lot of a business.

A red and black electric leaf blower valued at $130, a gray and black electric hedge trimmer valued at $100, and two green BMX Mongoose bicycles valued at $160 each were reported stolen from a detached garage of a residence in the 100 block of Monee Road on October 19.

Ashley D. Bates, 21, 110 Well St., Park Forest, was arrested on October 19 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Well Street to investigate a report of a female subject who was allegedly damaging property, according to police.

The west, Plexiglas window of a garage in the 100 block of Monee Road was discovered to have been removed by an unknown subject on October 20. Nothing was reported taken from the garage and it did not appear that entry had been gained, according to police.
