Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Two juveniles were arrested and issued municipal citations charging disorderly conduct when police broke up a fight that had taken place near the auditorium at Rich East High School after school on September 16.

A black and red bicycle valued at $150 was reported stolen from the 400 block of Sherman Street on September 16.

Matthew A. Stewart, 18, 109 Westwood Dr., Park Forest, and Jlyn L. Graham, 19, 1011 N. Menard Ave., Chicago, were arrested on September 17 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Westwood Drive to investigate a report of a disturbance.

A resident told police on September 18 that a check in the amount of $54 and was sent from his bank account as a loan payment. The resident said he never had an account with the company to which the payment was sent and did not write the check.

A juvenile was arrested on September 19 and charged with criminal trespass to land and possession of tobacco by a minor when police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a trespassing complaint.

A blue 10-speed Schwinn bicycle was reported stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 300 block of Osage Street on September 20.

A juvenile who had gotten off a school bus on September 20 at the corner of Shabbona Drive and Nauvoo Street was attacked by two juveniles who struck him, threw him to the ground, kicked him, and stole his cell phone. Police are investigating.

Four juveniles were arrested on September 21 and processed on battery charges when police responded to the 100 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a report of a fight in progress.

Brian B. Cogan, 21, 8304 Parkview Lane, Frankfort, was arrested on September 21 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while under the influence of drugs, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, parking where prohibited, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle when police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a suspicious subject.

A juvenile was arrested on September 22 and charged with criminal trespass to land when police were dispatched to Walgreens, 15 S. Orchard Drive, in reference to a report of a subject in front of the store asking customers for money, according to police.

An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Dogwood Street on September 22 in reference to a credit card fraud report. A resident told police that her credit card company related that as many as five attempted charges were made on her credit card account. None of the charges were processed and the victim suffered no financial loss.

A man told police on September 22 that, while walking northbound on Shabbona Drive near Minocqua Street, he was attacked by three or four male subjects. One of them said to him, "Give me your stuff." When the victim hesitated, he was struck in the right cheek with a closed fist. The victim then surrendered his headphones and cell phone. The offenders fled in a red or burgundy four-door vehicle.

A red BMX mongoose bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Meota Street on September 23.

Two juveniles were arrested on September 23 and charged with attempted robbery and aggravated battery in a public way when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Sangamon on Street to investigate a battery complaint that had just occurred within the last 5 minutes before the call was received. One of the juveniles was also charged with obstructing identification.

A wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of Nanti Street on September 24.

A cell phone and $20 cash were stolen from a man at gunpoint while he was playing basketball at Algonquin School, 170 Algonquin Street, on September 24. The man reported that two offenders drew handguns, one pointed at him, the other pointed at the ground. A third subject talked the first two out of stealing the man’s car. Police are investigating.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Towanda Court on September 24.

Two wristwatches and a windbreaker were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of Walnut Street on September 24.

A juvenile was arrested on September 25 after police say he provided a false insurance card during a local traffic court hearing in the courtroom at 200 Lakewood Boulevard, the Park Forest Police Department. The juvenile was arrested as he left the courtroom and processed on a charge of false insurance card.

Two bottles of alcohol valued at $40 were reported stolen from CVS pharmacy, 1 Main St., on September 27.

A cell phone and $10 cash were reported stolen from a backpack on September 27 at the Canteen program at Forest Trail Middle School.

Deborah Bell, 47, 4416 W. 116th Place, Alsip, was arrested on September 29 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery when police were dispatched to a residence in the first block of Forest Boulevard to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.
