Park Forest Police Reports for July 6, 2009


The driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Sycamore Drive was reported shattered on June 25. A JVC television/radio combo valued at $300 was reported stolen from the vehicle.

A water heater valued at $200 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Indiana Street on June 25. Police discovered a sliding glass window that was off its track.

Marcus L. Ward, 22, 190 Nauvoo St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 25 and charged with possession of cannabis when police assisted the Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Division in executing a parole check at that address. Police were unable to locate the parolee.

A 20-inch purple “NEXT” mountain bike was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Ash Street on June 26.

Justin P. Smith, 17, 247 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 26 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery.

Jerry D. Brown, 48, 121 Westwood Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on June 26 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery.

Allen Clark, 24, 210 Grant St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 26 and charged with criminal trespass to land and possession of cannabis when a detective responded to investigate a call regarding subjects in the 23400 block of Western Avenue. According to police, Det. Todd Beilke saw Clark standing in the parking lot, and had prior knowledge that Clark had been given written notice by the management company that he was banned from the property.

Letharon Jones, 54, 401 Neosho St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 26 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the Marathon Gas Station, 385 Sauk Trail, to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Jonathan I. Garcia, 18, 56 Apache St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 27 and charged with possession of cannabis, no front registration plate, and no proof of insurance, when an officer on patrol saw the vehicle Garcia was driving traveling west on 26th Street from Allegheny Street with no front registration plate, according to police.

Trevor T. Wilson, 18, 436 Winnebago St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 28 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of criminal damage to property.

A single-pane glass window of a residence in the 200 block of Miami Street was reported shattered on June 28.

The front driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lakewood Boulevard was reported shattered on June 29.

Three tires of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Miami Street were reported slashed on June 29.

A rock was thrown through the living room window of a residence in the first block of Cherry Street on July 1.

Rachel A. Klootwyk, 38, 705 Barton Ln., P.O. Box 381, Peotone, was arrested on July 1 and charged with felony financial identity theft when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate a report of financial identity theft.

Police were dispatched to Central Park on July 1 to investigate a report of battery. The victim was holding the back of his head where blood was visible, according to police. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

A bottle filled with more than $200 in change and a plastic pickle jar filled with $50 in change were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Apache Street on July 1.

Donald Wells, 60, 266 E. 34th St., Steger, was arrested on July 2 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to a residence in the 3500 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of domestic battery.

Alexis Marie Graham, 20, 328 Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 2 and charged with retail theft when police were dispatched to CVS Pharmacy, 1 Main St., to investigate a report of retail theft.

Emmanuel P. Davis, 18, 17121 California Ave., Hazel Crest, was arrested on July 2 and charged with possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to Rich East High School to investigate a report of possession of cannabis.

James C. Echols, 19, 502 Wildwood Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on July 2 and charged with aggravated assault, two counts of resisting a peace officer, and battery, when police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Wildwood Drive to investigate a report of a group of subjects being loud in the backyard.
