Police Arrest Central Park Attempted Armed Robbery Suspect

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police released a statement regarding the arrest of a subject in relation to a report of attempted armed robbery in Central Park last Saturday:

"Park Forest Police responded to a call of an attempted robbery on Saturday, 1/24/15, after a woman walking through Central Park around noon was approached by a man who displayed a gun and demanded property. The suspect then fled upon the victim’s protests. Community Service Officer Skraba observed the suspect as he fled on foot on the 100 block of S. Orchard Blvd. Responding officers confronted the suspect and a foot pursuit through downtown Park Forest ensued. Trevon Dickerson, age 20, of Chicago, was subsequently taken into custody, and a handgun was recovered upon checking the area through which he ran. After an investigation by detectives Dickerson was charged with one felony count of Attempt Armed Robbery and one felony count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

"Memo to Would-Be Felons: You’re not going to commit a robbery in Park Forest and get away with it, and whatever you were going to get in the robbery isn’t going to be worth the jail time."
