Police: Car Crashes Into Home On Westgate Drive, Driver Flees Scene, Apprehended

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police reported that a vehicle drove into a home in the 400 block of Westgate Drive and left the scene of the accident. Police apprehended the driver, a Chicago Heights resident, a short time later. He was charged with DUI.

The statement from the police follows:

On 3/8/2016 at around 1:20 am, the Park Forest Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had driven into a home on the 400 block of Westgate Drive and then left the scene.

Corporal Mannino observed a vehicle driving north on Westwood Drive with significant damage and air bags deployed, and stopped the vehicle.

The driver, Anthony Williams, age 41 of Chicago Heights, showed significant signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Investigation revealed that he was the driver who struck the residence on Westgate Drive and that he was under the influence of alcohol.

While the residents were home at the time of the crash, thankfully no one was injured. Williams was charged with DUI and other traffic related offenses.

Impaired driving has real consequences.
