Police Discover Man Asleep Behind The Wheel With Truck Stopped on Tracks

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– There are times on the highway when truck drivers will pull over and take a nap in the back of their cab. Pickup truck drivers may do the same, and others.

It’s certainly never a good idea to fall asleep behind the wheel, especially when one’s truck is stopped on railroad tracks.

Park Forest Police discovered a man asleep at the wheel of his vehicle on February 2 at approximately 4:38 a.m. The front portion of his still-running pickup truck was over the northernmost track of the Canadian National Railroad tracks on Western Avenue.

When they tried to wake him, police say the man grew argumentative and refused to cooperate. Police say he didn’t even want to wake up.

The man, Elias R. Barbosa, 27, 248 Park Terrace, Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with illegally stopping on railroad tracks and obstructing identification.
