Congresswoman Schakowsky Voices Support for New EPA Standards

Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)–September 20, 2013 – Rep. Jan Schakowsky released the following statement on the proposed EPA standards for carbon emissions from new power plants:

“I applaud today’s proposed rule to reduce carbon pollution at new power plants. More than 40 percent of American carbon pollution comes from power plants, and the EPA’s proposed standards are both common-sense and achievable. We face a critical moment in the war on climate change, and the President’s leadership on this issue will protect public health and the environment while ensuring the U.S. continues to lead the world in innovative emissions reduction technologies. I look forward to the finalization of this important rule.”
