Proposed PolyMet Mine on Superior National Forest Still Too Risky, Destructive to Proceed

DULUTH, Minn.–(ENEWSPF)–March 13, 2014.  Conservation organizations from northern Minnesota today submitted detailed comments opposing the proposed NorthMet mine on the Superior National Forest, which would be the first copper mine in Minnesota’s history. The mine would destroy wildlife habitat and wetlands, release mercury and sulfate into wetlands in the St. Louis River watershed, and violate laws meant to protect air, water and public health.
