Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Residents and visitors from neighboring communities flooded the Village Green Wednesday evening, July 11, for the third installment of Main Street Nights. The entertainment began with Little Nashville, a group started shortly after lead singer "Sheriff" Jay Hawke’s wife Laurie shared the news that they were about to be parents. According to the group’s web site:

In October of 2003, J’s wife Laurie came downstairs to the studio he had built in their home. She carried with her two champagne glasses of ginger ale, smiling from ear to ear. She handed J a glass, saying “I thought you might like a drink… Dad”.

Upon realizing this meant he was to be a father, a flood of emotion overcame J. At that moment, all he could do was grab Laurie and hug her as the tears of joy flowed.

Suddenly J’s life and career took a new path… one that would bring him more happiness and success than any other endeavor he’d undertaken. He began writing and recording an album for his son, JC.

Following Little Nashville, Nancy Hays and the Sawyer Brothers Band took the stage and offered the crowd a selection of traditional and modern country songs.
