Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A juvenile was arrested and charged with theft when police were dispatched to Walgreens Drug Store, 15 S. Orchard Drive, on July 18.
A resident told police on July 19 that she was conned into giving a man $7300 after the man said that he could loan her $10,000 to help pay an outstanding $17,000 property tax bill for her residence. After giving the man $7300, the resident from the 200 block of Arcadia Street, learned that her property tax bill had never been paid. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
A black Whirlpool dishwasher valued at $400, a black GE microwave valued at $1000, and a black GE refrigerator valued at $2000 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of South Orchard Drive on July 19.
Brandon D. Finley, 27, 329 Gentry St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 19 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, resisting arrest, and possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Gentry Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.
An ornamental lawn owl, stolen from the 100 block of Elm Street, was recovered by Park Forest Police and returned to the owner on July 19.
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Minocqua Street to investigate a battery complaint on July 20. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
A 2013-2014 Park Forest village sticker was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of South Arbor Trail on July 20.
A window of a residence in the first block of Apache Street was reported damaged on July 20.
A pink camouflage bag containing a cell phone, an iPod, and other items was reported stolen from the women’s locker room at the Park Forest Aqua Center on July 21.
A "Thunder-Five" revolver was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Gettysburg Street on July 21.
Police were dispatched to Family Dollar, 108 S. Orchard Drive, on July 22 in response to an alarm. Police discovered that a storefront window had been shattered with a landscape brick. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
Derrick E. Varnado, 21, 414 W. Lincoln Highway, Chicago Heights, was arrested on July 22 and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arcadia Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.
A Samsung Galaxy Cell phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Natoma Street on July 22. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
A Magnavox television, a Sony PlayStation 3, and a Kindle Fire HD were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on July 22.
A window of a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street was reported shattered on July 22.
Dajuan M. Thompson, 19, 254 Green St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 26 and charged with felony armed robbery after police investigated a report of armed robbery that occurred on July 22. A juvenile was arrested and processed on an unrelated charge.
A window in the first block of Marquette Court was reported shattered on July 23.
A Huffy Mountain Bike was reported stolen from the 500 block of Blair Street on July 23.
An unknown quantity of money was reported stolen from a lockbox at a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard on July 23.
A wallet was reported stolen from inside a purse that had been left in the trunk of a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Niagara Street on July 24.
A vehicle reported stolen from the 3300 block of Western Avenue on July 24 was recovered by police at the intersection of Selma Lane and Normandy Drive in Chicago Heights on July 26.
Four juveniles were arrested on July 25 and charged with trespassing when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Somonauk Street to investigate a possible residential burglary that had just occurred.
A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Nauvoo Street on July 27.
A juvenile was arrested on July 27 and processed on a charge of theft after police investigated a theft of a cell phone from the Park Forest Aqua Center that had occurred on July 17.
Police discovered spray-painted graffiti on a driveway in the first block of South Orchard Drive on July 27.
A living room window of a residence in the first block of Elm Street was reported shattered on July 28.
Alexander H. Kennedy, 23, 840 Greenbriar Lane, University Park, was arrested on July 28 and charged with felony possession of cannabis with intent, aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting a peace officer, and was processed on an outstanding warrant out of Will County after police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a disturbance.
A Nintendo Wii, Nintendo video equipment, a box of Quaker Granola bars and several individual bags of miscellaneous potato chips were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Illinois Street on July 29.
